Liveworm: Design Studio Experience

Before graduating university in 2019, I spent a total of 14 weeks in Griffith University's Liveworm studio. During this valuable time, I experienced the operations of a design studio for the first time and worked on many design projects for industry clients.

I was fortunate enough to have two projects of mine selected by the clients as the final printed outcomes, as seen below.

Artisan gallery window signage

Expanded Discrete States was an exhibition held in the Brisbane Artisan gallery in Bowen Hills, showcasing practitioners of both craft and design. The brief was to design the exhibition’s identity and how it would appear as window signage.

Concept sketches

The theme of this exhibition was focussed on the relationship between the hand and the mind through craftsmanship, sustainability and contemporary design. My design was highly influenced by this and appropriately reflects the exhibition’s theme.

Clean design. Great balance of playfulness and polished. Responded well to the brief: the relationship between craft + design. Contemporary finish reflects the design component of the exhibition well.

Taso Music logo design + business card

Taso Music was a logo design project for classical guitarist Taso Psychoulas. This logo encompasses the elegant and modern characteristics of Taso's brand.

My logo and business card were chosen as the final design by the client as they successfully encompass the classy, elegant, exclusivity and fine quality style the brand intended.

Studio experience feedback

A good return to the studio, Bridget, with a couple of ideal projects for you to explore your illustrative strengths. The standout project for me was the Earth Getamungstit cover. I also thought the Taso Music outcome was quite smart, and demonstrated that you could definitely pursue a direction towards corporate identities and branding if you wanted to.

Bridget you demonstrated a high level of organisation, productivity, and ability to schedule plenty of time to your project concepts. You always considered and implemented feedback provided.
